Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix discovered early that she had a talent for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first race, Felix placed 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003, and signed with Adidas to become professional athlete. Following that, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. She was the youngest to win the 200 meters at the World Championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, defeating time-tested Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 throughout her events at the Olympics held in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
