Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks after her very first tryout. In 2003, Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. She broke an Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest champion in the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked within the top three athletes in her respective events.
